NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
NATIONAL CAPITAL PLANNING COMMISSION
THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, 2002
The National Capital Planning Commission has rescheduled a Special Meeting
to consider the revised development concept plan and visitor/security
improvements at the Washington Monument Grounds, between 14th and 17th
Streets, Constitution Avenue, NW and the Tidal Basin. The meeting will be
held on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 12:30 P.M. The meeting will be held at
the Commission's offices at 401 9th Street, NW, North Lobby, Suite 500. This
represents a change from the previously announced meeting date of August 22.
Interested organizations and individuals are invited to express their views
on the project in writing or in person. If you wish to testify at the
meeting, please contact Priscilla Brown, LaWan Jenkins or Deborah Young on
(202) 482-7200. All speakers must register to speak no later than 12:00
Noon Wednesday, August 14. If you wish to submit your views in writing for
Commission consideration, 20 copies of your comments/testimony should be
provided to the Office of the Secretariat no later than 12:00 Noon on August
14. We regret any inconvenience this revised date may have caused.
Submission materials for the proposal may be reviewed at the Commission's
offices. You may contact Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Jenkins to schedule a time to
review the materials.
