Dear Coalition Friends,
More great news. The Senate Energy Committee's National Parks Subcommittee announces that it will hold a Mall oversight hearing on April 12 at 2:30 p.m. The official notice is posted below. Note the scope of the hearing and the invitation for written testimony.
We urge you to write in with testimony and come to the hearing. Letters should be faxed, because surface mail is seriously delayed for screening/security purposes. The committee's fax number is 202-228-0539.
This is also the time for all our friends and supporters to enlist two or three other people to write in about what should be done for the National Mall.
Coming on the heels of Fred Hiatt's op-ed in Monday's Washington Post, this indicates real momentum for our efforts in getting Congress to focus attention on the Mall's urgent needs today and for the future.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
