Coalition offers alternative for NPS "temporary" building

If the National Park Service must add a new “temporary” office structure in East Potomac Park,
alternatives should be found to the NPS chosen location, a highly visible area directly across from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and marina as well as major rejuvenation efforts along DC’s Southwest Waterfront.
Instead of locating it near the existing “temporary” NPS Building (the grey structure above; red star at right),
put it nearby, at the NPS National Capital Region main office complex, next to the existing NPS Maintenance and Design Contracting “temporary” Annex building (yellow star above; sign at right)
where there are acres of open space and hundreds of parking spaces to accommodate new NPS personnel and NPS contractors.
